We had the best Thanksgiving ever. We stayed home and I cooked everything. This was my first year preparing everything so it was important for me to be able to really enjoy the day at home. Anyone who knows me; knows that I LOVE to cook. I cooked for two days but it was so worth it. Our meal was the best dinner that I've ever had. We had a 18 lb turkey, 10 lb ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pies, chocolate & peanut butter chip cookies, cherry delight and hot chocolate. Matt's mom and her boyfriend stopped by in the evening and dropped off more pumpkin pies and a homemade cheesecake. It's a desert junkies dream come true.
Thank goodness I was able to burn off some of those extra calories with lots of shopping. I hit Kmart & Walgreens Thanksgiving Day. This morning I went to a music store, Walmart, Big Lots and Bealls. I found some great deals and I can't wait to see the kids on Christmas morning!! I just love this time of year. It's a little different this year because my grandma isn't here anymore. I think I miss her more everyday. It was always a challenge to get her a Christmas gift that she liked. I learning that her favorite gifts were pictures, she always needed more. I took the kids to the beach the other day for a photo shoot. I got some really cool pictures that are going to be on our Christmas card/photo. I'll post some pictures after I get the cards mailed off.
I am so thankful for everything and everyone in my life. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Blow darts
My 14 year old nephew was shot by a blow dart yesterday evening. He is OK but shaken up a bit. He was walking his dog at the time and right next door. Four teens drove by him, turned around and drove by again shooting him with the 3 inch blow dart. He wasn't the first, a man was shot not far away the other day. My sister-in-law took him to the hospital and called the police. We weren't sure if it had poison or anything on the dart. It was all over the local media on the evening news. Hopefully someone will turn these kids in or better yet they will turn themselves in. They will be facing some serious charges when they are caught.
If you are local you should hear about it on the news or read about it on-line.

Thank God that's over!
Today was the big day.....my colonoscopy!! I will tell you all about it but I want to start with yesterday's prep. It totally sucked not being able to eat, I did have some broth and Italian ice. I started drinking the nasty stuff around 4:30pm with the first 15 oz dose. After I drank that I had to drink at least a 1/2 gallon of clear liquids. I drank the next 15 ozs at 7pm. All that stuff did was make me really sick to my stomach and I ended up getting sick quite a few times. I took the dulalax at 9pm and went to bed. I was up and down all night going to the bathroom. So the job got done in the end.
The procedure went very smoothly. My mother-in-law was here on time and we headed to my appointment 15 minutes early. She dropped me off and took the kids for breakfast and shopping. When she was leaving from dropping me off I gave her my purse to hold for me. Well it had my cell phone with all my numbers programed into. I couldn't remember her number to save my life. Since Matt is in Delaware for work he had his phone turned off. To make a long story short, she finally called to check on me. I felt like such an idiot for doing that. I never do things the easy way.
The doctor found one 4 mm polyp that he removed and sent to the lab. I also have a few mild internal hemorrhoids. They even gave me pictures!! I go back for a follow-up appointment in three weeks. I'm relieved to have it over with. I'm in no pain at all and I feel great. I can't believe that I'm talking about such unpleasant things but I guess that's life.

Luke
Luke had his hearing test this afternoon. His right ear had improved just a tap and the left was the same. So we are moving forward with hearing aides. I have an application for assistance from Sertoma Foundation that I will send off in the morning. Our Audiologist, Kathy has working with them many times so she is a great help. They help many families with the cost of aides since most insurance companies don't cover the cost. Luke is actually looking forward to getting them because he realizes that he's been missing things. Kathy will be sending in paperwork too telling them what he needs. After we get all the finances straight he will be fitted. They have to make a mold. We should be able to get them ordered before 2009.
I'm getting a little nervous about my colonoscopy on Wednesday. I start my preparation in the morning. I can only have clear things and nothing red. I also have 3 bottles of Citrate of Magnesia to drink and finish it off with 2 Dulcolax.....yummy! I think I'm more worried about the pain after the procedure because I'm a wimp when it comes to pain. As long as everything is OK I'll be fine I'm sure. I'm off to scrapbook.

My boy's rock!!
Yesterday was report card day for the boy's. Austin has really struggled over the years with reading and math. We have tried a few different school, a couple different doctors and quite a few medication changes. I think things are finally starting to "click" for him and all his hard work is paying off!! He got all B's and 1 C (math)!! We are so proud of him for working so hard. His teachers have nothing but good things to say about him. They say that he always has a good attitude and always tries his hardest.
Luke got all A's & B's and made the honor roll!! Luke hasn't really had to try very hard at school yet. He does just enough to get by. I keep telling him that we are all in trouble when he actually tries. We try to remind him how hard things are for his brother. Luke loves going to school and learning. He is still in the band playing the baritone but he's getting tired of carting it around! So he wants to play the french horn next year.
I'm off to enjoy a lazy Saturday morning.

Good Times
We love birthdays and Christmas here at the Nasworthy's. Matt and I are so bad about waiting until the actual day to celebrate and give gifts. We ALWAYS get presents early. Birthdays are no longer days, but weeks in our home. And yes, we have already given the kids their big Christmas gift. We got a coupon in the mail for yearly passes to both Universal Studio's and Islands of Adventure in Orlando for a great price.
So yesterday morning we surprised the kids with a trip to Orlando for a day of fun and games. It was so much more fun because it wasn't something that was planned. We had a great time together. We ate at the NASCAR restaurant, which was fabulous. We rode the new Simpson's ride first and it was awesome. Luke was finally tall enough to ride everything! We did the Hulk, Dueling Dragon's, The Mummy ride, Spiderman, Jaw's and many more.
I kept thinking to myself all day how truly blessed we are to live here. How grateful I am to have three health and happy children. How awesome it was to think that I get to share the rest of my life with Matt. Sure he drives me crazy most of the time but I would be lost without him. We actually enjoy spending time together doing just about everything. We are looking forward to learn how to scuba dive and jumping out of a airplane. They will have top wait because we are totally into surfing right now.

kind of gross
I've been having some issues with my stomach lately. I went to my doctor this past Tuesday to discuss these issues. I had quite a few bloody stools last Sunday and a little Monday. It was pretty scary. I'm feeling better now. I saw a Gastro-Doctor this morning and made a appointment to have a dreaded colonoscopy. I'll do that on the 19th. I hoping for no problems, not too much pain and good results.
I'm off to pick up my boys from school.
Have a great weekend.

We love sports!
I took a bunch of pictures of Savannah a couple weeks ago in her Colt's cheerleader outfit. I thought I'd share. She loves the teams that we love. She really loves having her picture taken and being the center of attention. She is very "loud and proud!!"
