Blah, blah!

I thought I would update everyone with whats been going on in my exciting life. I've been feeling pretty blah lately. I went to my doctor last Thursday and she thinks some of my symptoms are new allergies. She gave me some samples and they seem to be helping a little. She also took a bunch of blood work to check my thyroid and everything else. My neck has been really sore and it will go numb from time to time. I've also had some vertigo off and on for the past few weeks. I just called to check on my bloodwork but it wasn't back yet. I'll update once it is.

We discoved last Friday that Austin has Tourette's Syndrome most likely caused by his ADHD meds. We stopped that med for 4 days then started another one yesterday. Those were four very long days!! We made it through and his tics seem to be under control for now along with his energy. He decided that karate wasn't for him so for now he's just working extra hard on his schooling. He loves music so maybe he will try that next?

Luke is crazy!! He's doing well in school and loves the Cub Scouts. He has decided that he wants to be a star quarterback in the NFL and drive NASCAR on the side. He is totally addicted to our Wii too. We use it as a way to get him to behave better. He's a really sore looser, so were working on that.

Nana is the ultimate drama queen, and she really does keep me on my toes. She's having so much fun with her dance class and preparing for the big rectial in June. All the Dad's are going to be in the rectial too. I'm starting the process to get her in pre-k this fall. She's pretty excited about being a big girl and going to school. All four year olds can attend pre-k for free here in Florida. This Bill just past a few years ago so she's the first to get to take advantage of it.

Most of you know that my passion in life is helping families dealing with pediatric cancer and finding a cure. I have quite a few kids that I have been following through the years through Caringbridge. Some of them are doing awesome now, some have relapsed, and some have died. I found out recently that one of my best friends growing up has a daughter that has heptoblastoma (liver cancer). Alivia is doing well after chemo and surgery to remove 75% of her liver and the tumor. All of this and she is only a baby. This has really hit close to home and I'm more determined than ever to help. So I encourage each one of to do something to help.

Childhood Cancer Awareness

I posted this video last September for The National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. I thought it was worth repeating. Some of the children in this video are no longer with us. We all really need to do more so that these kids have a future. I ask that YOU do whatever you can to raise awareness, fund research and support families. Every little bit helps!!

1-17-05

I found these pictures of Savannah from 3 years ago (just shy of 9 months). They were taken on 1-17-05 with our old camera. I really wish we had a better camera back then because she was so cute. I love the little person that she is becoming but a part of me really misses the baby. She sure does keep us on our toes!!

Dancing trees

I took the kids to the park one day during Christmas break. It was really windy that day but other than that it was perfect, a real Chamber of Commerce day. As we got of of the van Nana says, "look mommy, the trees are dancing!!" and she was so excited about it. At first I was thinking how are they dancing, and then I stopped and actually looked at the trees and you know what; they were dancing! I guess I had never described a windy day in such a way, but I love it.

I love how my kids describe people, places and things. And I'm always amazed at how different we see things than our kids, sometimes. I still wonder sometimes if I'm 'grown-up' yet. I remember being about 10 and thinking that when you turned a certain age you would somehow get all the answers to life's questions. I'll be 35 this year and I still wonder when I'll have all the answers. I do know that I will get those answers one day; it just won't be here on Earth. So until then I'll be watching the trees dance and enjoying their beauty.

New Years.....Florida style!

On New Years Day we headed to the beach because there was a chance for some waves. I still haven't tried to surf but Matt has a few times and he loves it. The waves weren't really surf worthy but Matt got some practice. I got to take tons of cool pictures and the kids love playing in the sand and searching for weird things. Julie taught Austin how to find shark teeth. The high on that day was 68 so it was nice. That night it got really cold and the high yesterday was around 50. That's cold for us Florida folks!!

Headed in!!
headed out!!!
