Where did we go wrong?

Matt and I will both admit that we aren't the greatest parents but we do our best. Last Thursday when I picked up Luke from school he said that he needed more money for lunch. I asked him where all the money went? It seems that a boy in his class asked him to buy him some ice cream at lunch. This was 2 months ago...and he's been doing it everyday since. So we have been buying this kid ice cream everyday for 2 months and he has NEVER bought Luke ice cream. Needless to say Luke isn't allowed to ever buy ice cream at school again.
Nana and I were out spending her b-day money yesterday and when we got home there was a message from the school nurse at Austin's school. I kid in Austin's class bit him twice on his left arm. A 4th grader did this!! The skin wasn't broken but the teeth marks are there. This morning he had bruises. Is it just me or does it seem crazy for a 4th grader to bite someone? Austin said that he had accidentally kicked the other boy's chair.
We want our kids to be giving, caring people but not to be taken advantage of.

Happy 4th Nana

I can't believe that 4 years ago tonight I was awaiting the arrival of our first daughter. I had a miscarriage two years before I had Savannah. We were devastated, and we will never be the same. A part of us died that day. I wasn't far enough along to be able to tell the sex. We had a boy name and a girl name already picked. We actually tried to get pregnant this time. We really wanted a sweet baby girl to finish the family.
So you can imagine how overjoyed we were to get our baby girl.
Basics:
Savannah Genevieve Nasworthy
dark hair & eyes
4-26-04
9lb. 9oz
21 inches
Savannah, otherwise known as Nana, has brought so much to our lives. She is all girl but could put a hurtin on anyone. She loves all things pink, the more the better in her eyes. She is the most caring little girl well, long as everything is her way! She loves to dance and play in her ladybug sandbox. She would love to wear a pink dress everyday. She knows that she is a princess and loves every bit of it!
Happy Birthday

It's the little things

We had a great weekend. Savannah and I went to the beach on Friday afternoon after we had a quick visit with Katia. Getting a hug from Tracy and smiles from Katia was awesome. The best part was how giving, loving and caring Nana was being. She's been known to be a little diva and gets quite upset when things don't go her way. She was so excited to get to see Katia and even made her some pictures and a goodie bag. Seeing Nana like that made me believe that we are doing something right.
I took all the kids to the beach Saturday while Matt was at a beach clean up in Bradenton. I have started picking up trash when I'm at the beach. If everyone would do a little it would make a huge difference. I want the beaches here to be beautiful so that my future grand kids can enjoy them.
Sunday was a great day too. Matt took the boys to see a movie and I was able to do some shopping for Nana's birthday. We got tons of stuff done around the house and outside. I had to run to Walgreen's to pick up a few things and when I got home Matt had dinner cooked and served!!! I had marinated some tuna steaks and put veggies on kabobs. Matt cooked that all on the grill and even made rice too. Dinner was amazing. I think food always taste better when someone else makes it. I do love to cook but a break is always welcome.
There are so many little things that mean so much to me. Matt always tells me how much he loves me. He is always doing things that show me too. I can't get enough hugs and kisses from my three wonderful kids. I have special things with each one.
Thanks for checking in.

My baby

Here are some recent pictures of Nana putting on a fashion show. She loves for me to get the camera and click away. I can't believe that she will be 4 very soon. She's everything I ever wanted in a daughter and more. All of my kids are perfect in my book. The boys are growing their hair out, I guess they got tired of the shaving. Enjoy the pictures of my little diva.

Hello

As you can see from the pictures, we had a great vacation. I did get pretty tired though. We did a lot of walking and waiting. This was our first major outing without a stroller. Nana did great, but I can't say the same for Daddy's back. The Magic Kingdom was packed, there were people everywhere!! Thankfully they have the speed pass on most of the big rides. Disney was everything I expected and more. They have made sure to not leave out any detail. It really is magical and nothing quite compares. We didn't even do 1/2 of the things they offer. Believe it or not, we didn't meet any of the princess'. The characters we met were at Epcot.
The resort was awesome. The grounds were beautiful and there was so much to do. It would have been nice to have a bigger room. The room had two double beds and a twin pull-out. The boys took turns with the roll-out. We have a king sized bed her at home so the doubles seemed really small.
Our day at Epcot was a blast too. I was pretty beat by Saturday and my legs wanted to hang it up, but we pushed on. We ran from country to country in between the rain. The Soarin' ride was awesome and the 360 movie in China was great. We all had a great time.
I can't help but feel a little guilty. We are having the time of our lives and an amazing young woman is losing her battle with cancer. I have followed Emily Lester's fight for many years. I never had the chance to meet her face to face but I did see her in the fashion show last year. Emily was 18 and had battled leukemia for much of her young life. I hope to attend her wake tomorrow evening. I'll will never understand why she had to fight so hard. Here are some links if you want to read about this amazing warrior. She had just been accepted to Duke University and awarded a scholarship worth $60,000.

Disney Day #3

Saturday was our day at Epcot. It did rain but that didn't slow us down. We took cover and had some ice cream. There are lots of inside things to do at Epcot too.
Snow White
We went to Epcot on Saturday and finally met some characters. We didn't see any at the Magic Kingdom, not even a princess. We waited in line for close to an hour to meet these guys.

Disney Day #2

I was surprised at how many people knew what hotel we were at from the pictures. We were at Port Orleans Riverside in Aligator Bayou in building 15. We loved the pool. Here some pictures from Friday.
